AUSTIN (KXAN) — CapMetro is installing more than 100 new transit shade shelters across its ridership network to help customers beat the scorching heat.Austin's transit authority partnered with Tolar Manufacturing on 149 new shelters slated to be installed in CapMetro's service area. The shelters feature solid aluminum roofs and perforated panels to help riders avoid the sun, the transit authority said in a tweet. CapMetro offers complimentary rides to cooling centers The 149-shelter delivery comes during the first year of a five-year contract between Tolar Manufacturing and CapMetro. However, Tolar Manufacturing has delivered more than 300 bus shelters to CapMetro's service area in separate contracts since 2016, according to reporting in Metro Magazine.The bus shelters will be delivered from April through August, per Metro Magazine. MOREAU, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Moreau man has been arrested following a robbery investigation, according to state police. Quintin Mclean, 25, was charged with third-degree robbery and false personation. On June 16 at 12:04 p.m., troopers responded to the Dunkin Donuts on State Route 9 in Moreau for the report of a robbery in progress. The suspect had fled the location before law enforcement arrived. According to police, the investigation determined that Mclean was responsible for the robbery, and he was located at a nearby hotel. No one was injured during the crime, and no weapons were ever displayed. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Ballston man has been arrested after he allegedly damaged over a dozen parked cars at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC). On Sunday around 10 p.m., troopers responded to Saratoga Spa State Park for the report of someone damaging cars near North South Road. Two minors are dead after being struck by a vehicle in traffic on the eastbound SR-78 in San Diego County Sunday night, officials said. Fire officials were first alerted about the incident at 6:12 p.m., after receiving a call that the two had been hit on the highway.According to Vista Fire Department Deputy Chief Brett Davidson, the minors, ages 10 and 16, got out of the vehicle after the driver, their mom, had pulled onto the shoulder of the highway.The two were struck by a vehicle in oncoming traffic and were later pronounced dead on the scene by authorities.According to VFD, the exact number of people in the car that had pulled over is not known at this time.Details about what led up to the collision remain under investigation by California Highway Patrol. 69-Year-Old Seaside Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 1MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (June 19, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a fatal DUI collision on State Route 1 led to the arrest of Chris Witherspoon.The fatal incident occurred around 3:45 a.m. along Highway 1 near the southbound lanes of Highway 68.According to the investigators, a northbound gray 2017 Toyota Camry collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Mirage.
