The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to consider the Biden administration's challenge to a bankruptcy settlement for Purdue Pharma, pausing the $6 billion deal over the administration's concerns about a provision that would shield the members of the Sackler family, who own the company, from future opioid-related claims.The court slated arguments in the case for December, leading to a decision likely early next year. A man suspected of indecent exposure and other sex crimes on trails in Jefferson County foothill parks told investigators that he felt “compelled” to commit the crimes, according to an arrest affidavit.Glenn Thompson Braden, 20, of Evergreen, faces multiple charges including five counts of indecent exposure and three counts of unlawful sexual contact, all first-degree misdemeanors, according to the affidavit.Braden, was arrested Tuesday night by sheriff’s deputies following incidents near the Beaver Brook Trail at Stapleton Park where he is suspected of exposing himself and chasing women who were hiking alone. Vehicle Collision near Yerba Buena Road Left One DeadSAN JOSE, CA (August 10, 2023) – Late Friday night, one person was pronounced dead following a crash on Route 101.According to the San Jose officials, a white Hyundai Genesis was stopped at the left side near Yerba Buena Road at around 11:30 p.m., August 4th.Consequently, the officials arrived at the scene and they found one person dead in the area. By Samantha Beech | CNNA 17-year-old has been indicted on a charge of second-degree murder as a hate crime over the killing of O’Shae Sibley, a 28-year-old professional dancer who was stabbed to death at a Brooklyn gas station after dancing to a Beyoncé song.Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez did not name the 17-year-old who was indicted Thursday due to the teen’s age, he told reporters outside Brooklyn Supreme Court.
